Hello Everyone,
Research on Attention
Attention is identified as the ability to control computational resources flexibly. The study of attention is linked with neuroscience and psychology, where different aspects include awareness, vigilance, executive control, learning, and saliency. Working memory has a close relationship with attention. Some people tend to face problems with their ability to be attentive, thus the disorders from which they must seek medication. Attention deficit is a significant issue that some people face.
Cortese (2020) points out the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, which features hyperactivity and impulsivity due to inattention. This kind of disorder is faced by children, with more than 70% of cases being confirmed. The author identifies pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic as how these children seek medication. The analysis of the article plays a major role in my field of practice as it clarifies how I can deal with children identified with the problem. The article helps align my attention knowledge with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) (Cortese, 2020). The awareness of the needs of the FDA has broadened by know-how to deal with the matter in the best way possible.
In conclusion, attention is the ability to control computational resources. It involves vigilance, awareness, and executive control, among others. However, it is featured with deficit disorder which in many cases is diagnosed in children. Some of the methods used to treat the problem are pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic. Learning the aspect of attention disorder and the treatment modes has helped me learn how to deal with children diagnosed with the same problem.
